Seize the Birthday

I stole some time to day make a card for the Seize the Birthday challenge.

This week we had to use the same sketch as last week.....but....we had to make a masculine birthday card.

I did a little bit of paper piecing and mixed it with some Copic colouring to make my cute little cowboy which is a stamp from Your Next Stamp.

I used the colours supplied at this weeks ColourQ.  Maybe if I had workout wear that looked like this I would work out more..........nah!

For the design of my card I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Little Blue Bird

I really love how this card turned out and it wouldn't have been made if I hadn't have played along with a couple of challenges today.

Cardstock: SU, TPS
Stamp & Die: Wplus9
Pearl: Kaisercraft
Twine: Jillibean
Button: Doodlebug
Ink: Versafine

The challenge at CASology was to use the colour blue and the challenge at ScrapFIT was to use the negative part after using a punch.

I'm sharing a closeup here so you can see that I actually used the negative portion of the cardstock after the bird was cut out with a die.

Opening Gifts

For Scrapbook Memories and More I got to play with the Home For Christmas collection by Fancy Pants. It's so nice!

I got a photo of my parents opening presents on Christmas Day and wanted to get it on a layout right away. This collection was perfect.

I used my Cameo to make these poinsettias and I love how they turned out.

I made a cute little banner for underneath my photo too.

I used a sketch from Creative Sketches and it all came together so nicely. For a complete tutorial on how to recreate this layout just check out this blog post.

I'm off to have a wonderful scrap filled weekend with some friends so have a fabulous weekend!!

It's a Party

One of the collections that I got from Scrapbook Memories and More to play with is My Minds Eye Indie Chic.
MME is one of my most favourite manufacturers so I was thrilled when this arrived on my doorstep!

This layout is of my daughter and son-in-law and it became one of the pages in the calendar that I made for my parents. That is why I didn't add too many dimensional elements to it but still enough I think.

Look at this gorgeous sheer frayed flower! I added pearls to the center.

The floral image on top of this paper is actually a rub-on from MME and it went on like butter.

You can find a complete tutorial on how to re-create my layout right here.
